IKEA came to Ambient Squared to help them make a splash with their Richmond location opening. To start we turned regular coupon giveaways into an interactive marketing experience with our human billboards, encouraging people to share them on social media. We also had our brand ambassador teams take to Twitter to post their secret landmark location and give away free IKEA gift cards when found. In a single day we set the people of Richmond loose on a massive city-wide scavenger hunt, building brand awareness every step of the way.
We were able to create a massive city-wide scavenger hunt that the people of Richmond have never seen before. This event was a huge success, generating a lot of social media activity and brand exposure for IKEA. Hundreds of new interactions were created in person and online and #IKEARichmond was the top trending hashtag in the city.
