The Campaign
Ambient Squared helped IKEA give their fans a memorable first-hand experience with this unique experiential campaign. By setting up Twitter Enabled Vending Machines in 12 locations across Canada we were able to give people a product/gift card along with a catalogue in exchange for a tweet. Many people never saw guerilla marketing like this before and were excited to try it out.
The Results
The goal of this custom event was to promote IKEA’s new catalogue while building brand loyalty and awareness. There were huge lines at all our locations which helped generate a lot of word of mouth buzz. Over 4 days this campaign received more than 20,000 tweets and more than 1,800 products & gift cards given away, creating another viral marketing effort for IKEA.
